Welcome to the AOP-website
The AOP5 conference has taken place with great success.
At present we are in the process of following up on the conference, especially in submitting the papers to selected scientific journals as advertised. You can find further information here...
The abstracts of the submitted and evaluated paper you will find here...
The photos taken during AOP5 will be available here...
In a few months we will start the first preparations concerning AOP6, so we will continuously process with our theme AOP.
In the meantime we would be glad to further extend the good relations
within our “AOP-family” and would be extremely pleased to welcome new
interested members.
Please do not hesitate to contact us!
Best wishes
Your AOP5 conference organising team
Below you will find our “AOP5-thanks”:
Dear AOP5 participant,
on behalf of the CUTEC-Institut GmbH we would like to thank you for your participation in our AOP5 conference.
Your participation and enthusiasm were an important contribution to a successful conference with lively discussions. We hope that you found the ideas presented in the conference to be of interest to you.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the IWA for our long-standing teamwork and aspire to a similar co-operation with the IOA. The Technical University of Berlin was also, once again, a reliable partner and we thank the “Wasser Berlin” for providing a venue for the conference which we profited from. Special thanks go to Prof. Sven Geissen, Mr. Pierre Liechti and Dr. Achim Ried. Furthermore we wish to thank our sponsors: Anseros GmbH, Degremont Technologies Ltd. and ITT Wedeco GmbH. The financial support given by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt and the technical tour they partly financed were also much appreciated.
We plan to repeat this conference in three years, depending on the development in this area and availability of a suitable date and supporting/sponsoring organisations and exhibitors.
Regarding the questionnaires, unfortunately, we only received 58 completed ones, though about 270 participants attended, so the results are not very representative. However, we would still like to give you the evaluation results:
The talk held by Prof. Hansruedi Siegrist was voted the best oral presentation, followed by the presentations of Prof. Jeyong Yoon, and Prof. Nathalie Karpel Vel Leitner, while Ms. Alexandra Jarocki’s poster (PC201, fundamentals) was clearly selected as the best poster. We congratulate all of them on their nomination and greatly appreciate their work; we hope this will be a source of encouragement and inspiration for their future.
In the oral programme, wastewater, recycling/reuse, drinking water and trace-pollutants were considered “very important” by more than 50%. More than half of the respondents rated fenton and photocatalysis "important", while sludge and electro-chemistry were considered to be least important.
For the poster presentation topics, ozone/AOP/water/wastewater was considered “very important” by more than 70%. About half of the respondents rated fundamentals and catalysis “very important”, while more than one third considered sludge to be least important. The rest of the topics were rated as "important" by about half of the respondents.
More than 60% rated the organisation of the conference, conference bag and the technical support as “very good”, while almost half of the respondents rated the conference proceedings and conference abstract book as “very good”. More than 60% thought the topic selection and content were “good”.
The evaluation of the questionnaires showed that the attendees assessed the conference as very good. There were several suggestions, which will be taken into consideration for the next conference, and we would like to thank all those of you who turned in your evaluation for your participation, co-operation and helpful remarks.
We would be glad to welcome you at our planned 6th conference on oxidation technologies and wish you all the best until then.
Please do not hesitate to contact us in case of any questions.
Best wishes from CUTEC
Prof. Dr. Michael Sievers, Dr. Britta Kragert, Dr. Sven Schäfer and Dr. Theodore Onyeche and the remaining staff of the conference organising team
